Ekuphumeleleni Senior Primary school, situated in Jabulani Soweto, has received library number 60 from the Imperial and Motus Trust and the twelfth from the Hyundai Motor Company.
The school grounds are spotless with a lovely garden and an openhearted school management team. They exhibit an air of professionalism and a love for their calling. The school had two empty rooms which were earmarked as the premises for their new library.
The renovation started on 29 March 2022 and ran up to 10 May 2022. In tandem with the renovation of the rooms, our team began the mammoth task of preparing the library for handover. Thousands of books and library resources were procured and pored over, and ultimately despatched for their new destination: Ekuphumeleleni Primary.
The handover took place on 18 May 2022, with a beautiful function organized by Hyundai marketing staff. In attendance at the grand handover function were the education officials, the CEO and team from Hyundai South Africa, representation from Imperial Logistics and Trustees of the Trust, the governing body, school management, principals from neighbouring schools, and current principals of Imperial and Motus partners schools. Of course, the learners of this proud school – perhaps the most important component of the day’s guests – graced the occasion with excitement and joy.
