Mqiniswa Primary School is situated in an area in Vanderbijlpark, which is on the border of Gauteng and Free State. Teachers travel from far and wide to reach school, but more importantly, the needs of its learners were very urgent and could simply not be ignored.
We accepted the challenge; the available room was converted into a library in a very short time. The team actually set the record at this school by completing a library for handover in well under three months.
One of the attendees to the handover was an ex-pupil and now a senior officer in South African Navy. He enthused over the new library at his alma mater and immediately pledged funding to erect a covered shelter for assemblies and community meetings.
