Pentarosa Primary School caters for 1000 learners being bussed in from the surrounding communities of Lawley, Soweto and Thembelihle.
The school’s strengths and needs as presented in their proposal were observed as true which we observed firsthand during our unannounced assessment visits to the school.
The room we were allocated was the original library built by the former House of Delegates (the administering authority for the Indian population in South Africa at the time). Because of a lack of funding, the room was in some disrepair and a lot of work went into ensuring that the center was restored to its former state.
Amidst much joy, the school was the proud recipient of a beautiful library in 2019.
